1977 Pontiac Grand Prix SJ
COMING SOON TO www.bringatrailer.com
In our 57 years of business this is the “barn find” we will remember the most. What you are viewing is a true one-owner car that we purchased from the original owner. And yes, it is an all-original car with only 2,800 actual miles! We are truly amazed how “like new” and original it is. There has never been any damage, paint or body work, corrosion etc.
Bob and Clara George purchased the car in June of 1977 from Andy Klein Pontiac right here in Kansas City. We still retain the original Kansas title, warranty information listing, numerous pieces of original documentation all housed in the original car credentials portfolio.
The car itself is an absolute time piece front to back. The original Starlight Black paint is magnificent especially against the original white interior which is absolutely flawless!
The option list includes the original, numbers matching 400ci. 6.6liter V/8 engine coupled with a Turbo 400 automatic transmission, posi-traction rear axle, Factory Air Conditioning, power steering, power front disc brakes, cruise control, power door locks, power drivers bucket seat, intermittent wipers/washers, remote side mirrors, tilt steering column, AM-FM radio, 6000 rpm tachometer (Rally gauges), rear window defrost, rear speakers, untouched space saver spare tire with the original inflator canister, original un-used bumper jack & tire tool, original trunk mat, push button trunk release, body side moldings, polished stainless rocker moldings, woodgrain dash trim, Radial Tuned Suspension rolling on a brand new set of original style GR-70-15 Goodyear whitewall tires mounted on the original Pontiac wheels.
When we took possession of the car, we carefully went through the fuel system prior to attempting to start. We removed the fuel tank and had it professionally cleaned, changed the fuel sending unit and fuel pump, rebuilt the original carburetor and added a new A/C Delco battery. Once all of the fluid levels were checked, we added fuel and it started like it was 1977 all over again.
As an added bonus please check out the YouTube video with the original owner as she gives a little bit of history of how and why the car was purchased, how it was taken care of and enjoyed.
